I was SOOO impressed with your nudest camp!!! I have never went to one before and didn't even think I’d like it but was SOOO pleasantly surprised about how much fun it really is and how WONDERFUL and how FRIENDLY EVERYONE IS!!! It totally put to rest any concerns I would have. I WILL definitely return next year more than once!!! I’m telling any friends and family how awesome you all are! Don’t knock it until you try it. Sooo pleasantly surprised!

From Michelle's friendly welcome to our departure a few days later, everything was PERFECT! I could not believe how clean everything was. One could almost eat off of the dirt. We are not tent people, so we rented one of the cabins and we were very happy. The bathrooms were clean, the pool and hot tub was clean. The outdoor showers were awesome. And the weekend breakfast for $7.00 was to die for! Best breakfast ever. Well done WTL members--we WILL be back.

This was our first time camping at WTL and our first time being naked outside our own home and property. We loved it! We were mostly there for the naked 5k, a bucket list thing, but want to come back again for other events or just to chill out for a weekend. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Special shout out to Linda our welcome wagon host who showed us to the camping area and answered any questions we had. We also had a lot of fun at the Saturday evening dance... we love dancing but seldom get out to places with a nice dance floor. The DJ did a good job playing our requests and good dance tunes. The pool is fantastic, clean and well maintained. The Sunday morning breakfast was also good - good job cooks and servers!

Met a few people catted briefly with them hope to come on a little busier day and meet more would be great to have people to go with. Bad part was getting dressed to go home but I’ll be back sooner than later .

My wife and I decided to visit White Thorn Lodge for our first nudist experience. From the moment we arrived until the time we left ( 2 weeks later!!) we felt as welcome as long time members. Everyone was sooo friendly and helpful, they even gifted us sunscreen and after burn lotion for our newbie sunburns! Bathhouses/pool/clubhouse/camping sites all spotless and perfect thanks to the member volunteers who work tirelessly. They know how to party if you are into that, or you can just lounge by the beautiful pool and read. One of the best experiences of our life, highly recommend!!! Thank you White Thorn members, we will be back!

White Thorn Lodge is the best place to come and get naked and enjoy a weekend. I have been coming here regularly for the past 2 summers. The people here are the friendliest nudist you can meet. I am honored to have them as my friends. They have lots of great activities for anyone to participate in. I especially like the walking trails. Once you start on a hike, you forget where you are, and it is so peaceful.
Check in is safe and easy. I always feel safe and welcome when I am there.

This was our second stay at White Thorn for my wife and I. We went to run the 2022 5k. As with last year’s event the grounds, pool, trail and cabin were beautiful and carefully maintained. Folks were friendly and welcoming and took an active interest in our opinions and satisfaction. We love the place and wish we could stay more often.

White thorn was everything I had hoped for as a first timer. Check in was a smooth process. We had a member show us the grounds which was nice. From the moment I undressed I felt like there was a huge weight off my shoulders. It was a breath of fresh air. The weather wasn’t the best that weekend but we still made the best of it. I felt like I was in another world. A good one. Everyone was so nice and welcoming. We will definitely be back.

Another excellent stay at WTL. As always, grounds are in amazing shape which is truly a reflection of their members.
While I couldn't play in Shoot The Moon volleyball tournament due to injury, I watched it. Mark put on a great event(loved the music) and Ginger made one heck of a punch.
Friday night at the snack bar they served pulled pork and roast beef sandwiches with Italian peppers. Complements to the chef, especially for the roasted spicy peppers. Also, special thanks to a member who found the peppers too spicy and offered them to me :).
Hope to be back in the area end of July and if time permits, definitely will be back.

This was something I always wanted to do as far back as I can remember. So my girlfriend and I agreed to try out being nudists. We search online and found White Thorn having so many positive experiences from first timers; we book a 24 hour endeavor. From asking questions over the phone, checking in, Ken being our tour guide, each of the Members treated us with such warmth and wiliness to help in every way.
The guests were just as friendly as can be. No one made us feel uncomfortable and after a short time we found new friends and wonderful acquaintances. We will be booking another visit real soon.

Terry, Ebonee, Rob, Paul, Todd, Tammy, James, I could go on and on . Thank you for making it seem like we were lifetime members even though it was our first visit. Unreal hospitality that created an experience that will be hard to top , although we are sure going to try on next visit! Thanks again!

The second time was a lot more enjoyable. Meet some really nice people, got some sun, and then…there’s the trails. The only thing I’ll say is GET A MAP!…lol

The volleyball games were amazing, all levels. I had fun running the trails and I enjoyed getting the hot tub and sauna. Oh and the stuffed cabbage was amazing!!
Raand Doug from Pittsburgh wrote on September 14, 2021
My husband and I first visited WTL on Sat., 9-SEP-21 just days before the Superbowl of Naked Volleyball was to be held. Being nude in front of strangers was challenging, but being naked in front of 500+ people was a different ask. And this was only our second time being nude in public. Well, this would be quite an intimidating experience, or so we thought.

We stayed until nearly sundown that Saturday, returned Monday for another day trip, camped out Friday night - neither of us had done this since childhood - and returned Sunday to finish out the season. All that to say that the calm this place puts on your spirit just makes you want to return. The atmosphere at WTL is absolutely refreshing. The members and guests alike were friendly and welcoming, and it was nice to interact with a community of people whose stories were so vast, yet often began just like our own: not knowing what to expect, but having your expectations completely exceeded.

WTL is seemingly very effectively and efficiently run. Despite the size of the event the bathrooms and showers were generally quite clean and well stocked; though I did not use the porta johns they appeared to be abundant. The grounds were well maintained. Food was quite plentiful and the cost was reasonable. Kudos to the Corn Roast…it was Awesome! Did I mention the volleyball was great?!

We both look forward to next season and the serene vibe that comes with entry - you feel it the moment you enter the gates.

Fondly,

Started going to WTL in 2013, I started bringing Shelly in 2016. Of all 7 campgrounds that we visited in PA and MD, WTL is by far our favorite and if it weren't for the distance, it would be our only one. There isn't one negative thing I can say about this place...from the friendliest people, great layout, fun activities and cleanliness to the overall relaxation.
We give great applause to the great people that run and take care of the grounds.

First time visiting White Thorn Lodge and first time visiting any nudist location. I was welcomed right away and given a tour. This was great because it gave me a chance to know where to go and not feel out of place. I was nervous at first and felt myself walking fast to find a place to sit by the pool. After awhile I felt more comfortable and at ease. The pool area is very nice. The people there are friendly and I ended up playing games in the pool with them. I stayed around 7 hours. It was nice to relax in a place that felt natural. I like how easy it was to let down my guard. To be naked in front of strangers and not even think about it after awhile. It felt so normal. In fact, I was sad to leave. I will definitely be making another trip here in the near future.

Next time I would do it the other way around. I went to their root beer float social and met some real nice people. Members that have been nudist for over 30 years. I have to admit I am a bit of an introvert and spent most of my time there relaxing and reading my kindle by the pool. I was amazed at the feeling of walking around naked. No one cared that I am overweight. No one judged me I was just another nudist. I was invited to play pickle ball and volleyball. The facilities were clean and well maintained. I was supposed to stay until today but the weather was turning too cold a left on Sunday. I will be visiting there again soon

WTL just ended their 49th Superbowl of Naked Volleyball, what a great time we all had.
A special THANK YOU goes our to Tike Tomba for all they do for WTL. Mike, taught a very well attended volleyball clinic. David & Brian DJ'd the pool party and Friday evening's dance.
Tike Tomba Is an excellent team that has won 7 of the last 8 tournaments. In addition to be a great team they are also great people.

Another highlight of WTL's Superbowl is Mr. Chili. For the last 26 yrs this man and his friends have been making excellent chili for us. You will find him located near the swimming pool. If you like good chili be sure to look him up.
We all hope you can attend the 50th anniversary tournament next year.

This Labor Day weekend was our first trip and also our first naturist experience and we loved it. The campground itself is much nicer than most. It has every amenity you could want --multiple volleyball courts, a concession stand, a heated pool, a hot tub we spent a lot of time in and tons of other things. It's easily a place to park, set up, and not have to leave for a food run, or anything really, because just about everything you'd need is there.

All guests and members were friendly and inviting. Hospitable and accommodating. They answered our questions and were kind enough to offer beers and food to us as well. We went here anticipating the hiking trails on the property and they did not disappoint. We saw a decent share of wildlife and enjoyed how well the pond trail is kept.

The fact that this is a co-op goes a long way. I believe it keeps visitor's prices affordable--but it also surrounds you in this ineffable sense of community, the kind that's getting harder and harder to find. We definitely plan on coming back next year.

This was our first time at this resort. We were greeted by friendly staff and some residents, given an escort to our cottage and made to feel very welcomed. The grounds were beautifully landscaped and well taken care of. The pool was beautiful, clean and handicap accessible. The food was great. We were present for Christmas in July and had an amazing time participating in the cart parade, site decoration contest and dancing to some great music provided by an accommodating and friendly DJ, named Todd. This was also a family friendly environment. All around great time and experience!

This was our first time ever at a nudist camp. We were both nervous but were put at ease immediately when Dave welcomed us at the gate. He explained the rules and took us on a tour. We removed our clothes and found a spot by the pool to relax. It was simply amazing. The members/guests were so friendly and forthcoming with their experiences with nudism. We did not want to leave. The place was awesome and we can't wait to return. Thank you to all that made our visit so enjoyable.

Showed up for my first time a naturist resort. I was immediately welcomed at the gate and given a tour by Ken. My main purpose of this visit was to go for a nude run, but I stayed for a few hours afterwards, and really enjoyed it. Truly no judgment and nice folks. I hope to persuade the wife to join me sometime, but if she doesn't, it's a good place for me to get away from it all, even if for a few hours.

I had a great time doing the State Line Streak and I had a lot of firsts that weekend as well. 1st Nake 5K, swimming, hot-tubbing sauna nudist resort/campsite. The longer I stayed the more I did not want to leave. The DJ was amazing on Saturday. Oh and I also did my first naked beer mile. I plan on coming back before the summer is out. My time here was so relaxing and peaceful and the friendly atmosphere was very inviting. Thank you White Thorn Lodge for helping me pull the band aid off and enjoy myself.

Great food for breakfast and lunch. Met several new friends. Walked around the grounds and found a couple who had a lighted garden with two other campsites. We were invited back after dark to see the lights. We will be back again next year.

I camped at White Thorn lodge two different weekends in the summer of 2014. Beautiful place, wonderful people. I went because I have had body image issues my whole life, and felt this was a way to confront it, head on. I felt so free and empowered. Thoroughly enjoyed myself. Haven't been able to return yet, but I am making plans to take my husband. Everyone there is so encouraging and respectful. It was a wonderful overall experience. As I said, definitely coming back as soon as we can manage it.

I’ve been visiting White Thorn Lodge every summer for the past five years. I only get to visit once or twice per summer but it is a great getaway! It can be very peaceful on a weekday and a great way to get away from it all. The pool is the best I’ve ever seen. The water is always warm. The trails are nice when they’re cut low enough to walk on. I like to read, swim and take walks on the gravel roads. Everyone is very nice and there are plenty of shady places to hang out in case you don’t want an overall tan like me😉.

I didn't get to visit as many times as I wanted this summer but got my weekly dose of Vitamin D at WTL starting in mid-July. I hope to get there earlier and more often in 2019. I like the fact that I can be off to myself reading or snoozing by the pool, or easily engage in conversation if I want. Had some nice conversations with John & Theresa, Karen & Jack, talked plants with Ken and enjoyed the company of other members and visitors. And got some tasty food from the snack bar. Sorry that the weather wasn't good for the Super Bowl, but I'm sure you all made the best of it. Thank you, and see you next year!

My wife and I enjoyed our visit to White Thorn the weekend of August 18 2018. Your resort is beautifully landscaped and we especially liked the way the colorful chairs by the pool blended with all the flowers. Your members and guests were very friendly and the food service was delicious! We enjoyed watching the pickle ball tournament as we cheered on some of our friends. We made several visits to the hot tub too which always hit the right spot and relieved any pains. We wish you much success and we hope to pass your way again in the future.

My wife felt instantly comfortable with Debbie when we took our tour and she didn't look back all day! The landscaping, hiking trails, pool, rental cabin, everything exceeded our expectations. Definitely going to make it back before the season ends. Them only downside of the whole experience was having to put on clothes and leaving!

My first visit to your camp was this year for the State Line Streak (7-7-7) and the Thirsty Mile. Arrived on Friday morning and had a wonderful time through the weekend. Everybody was warm and friendly. Aside from the chilly morning of the run, I was relaxed the entire weekend.(it warmed up soon enough) Enjoyed meeting many of your members and guests. The grounds are clean with well manicured lawns. The showers and bathrooms were well kept. It was well worth the 5 hour drive to get there. Next year, I'm planning on staying a week.

After decades of nude beaches and skinny-dipping pool parties, I spent my first day ever at a “real” nudist camp yesterday. White Thorn Lodge is an awesome place! The physical facilities are fabulous, but it is the people who really make the difference. I had the privilege of meeting three incredible young ladies who turned a very nice day into one of the best days I’ve had in a very long time.

To Michelle, Ebonee and Krista: I can’t thank you enough for your warm reception, kind words of advice, great conversation and laughs. You shall be forever etched in my memory as the brightest of bright lights in an otherwise simply wonderful day.

To anyone considering trying social nudity for the first time but are hesitant, I highly recommend WTL. Your only regret will be, “Why didn’t I do this twenty years ago?”

To all the new friends I met yesterday (including my USAF brothers), thanks for extending the warm welcome.

It may have been my first visit to WTL, but it won’t be the last. I look forward to seeing you all again soon.

The dances, pool, hot tub, hiking trails, and volleyball courts are all awesome areas to be. They really care about all their facilities and grounds a great deal. But what really helps make this place what it is, are the amazing and open people at the camp. It was a great feeling to be so accepted by everyone during my first trip there. Make sure you get to know everyone, you defiantly won't regret it. So if your looking to relax and have a good time with some great people choose a weekend and make a trip out there.

Bucket list Nakation!

This is our first visit here and, lucky for us, we started at the top... Superbowl Week! The resort is filled with athletes, some elite, for the huge Nude Superbowl of Volleyball Event. White Thorn Lodge, (WTL for short), is an American Association of Nude Recreation, (AANR), facility. That means you can expect respectful, family friendly behavior, and they enforce the rules, giving a shy first timer a high level of comfort and a great experience.

WTL is equipped with many volleyball and pickleball courts, a beautiful heated pool with plentiful lounges and a large in-ground hot/conversation tub. Eating at the snack-bar is both delicious and inexpensive. They have a large building, Hawthorn Hall, dedicated exclusively for the use of the kids, which is well equipped with TV, games, books, and toys, for the teen and pre-teen nudist. They also have an outdoor playground with a large climbing and sliding, playhouse. These kids facilities are monitored by an adult volunteer; grandmother to all. For the adults, there is also a large recreation hall that serves well for the frequent dances, games, and meetings.

White Thorn Lodge is member owned and as such, benefits from a pride of ownership not seen in most places. The grounds are spotlessly clean and picturesque, with ornamental plantings, lovely lawns, and an outstanding level of maintenance.

Know this: if you are looking for a great nudist experience in a clean, comfortable, AANR rules following enviornment, where you will have a friendly reception, you can't do better than White Thorn lodge!

Came to visit White Thorn the first weekend of July. We have never been to a nudist/naturalists resort ever before. I suggested that we try it and was suprised that my wife was game without needing any prompting. We pulled up to the entry building and were greeted by two clothed members. After a few minutes of questions and answers two male members greeted us and explained that we would be given a brief tour of the resort. The two tour guides, Frank and Scott were very accommodating and put us at ease in spite of the fact that they were not wearing any clothing. Upon parking our vehicle we were told that we could just undress here, in the parking lot. Ever the gamer I proceeded to undress. I was suprised to turn around and find my wife having absolutely no problem with this whatsoever. We took off walking and we're shown the grounds. The tour only takes a few minutes. Within that time these newbies had acclimated well. Once you are there it really is an enjoyable atmosphere and the people are just normal people doing normal things. We had a great time and plan on returning before July ends. Frank, our tour guide came back just to check on us as we were enjoying the pool and again as we were leaving for the day. Very welcoming place. Most people there were older than us. We are in our 40's.

We cant emphasize enough how cool and friendly the people were. The pool was amazing - they had nice music playing, things to do, areas of shade, and hot tubs located close by. It was super fun. we are looking forward to our next visit. its not a matter of IF but WHEN

My Ladyfriend and I visited White Thorn for the first time this weekend (June 2017). We heard of white thorn from several ppl at other clothing optional places and they spoke highly of it but we had no idea what to expect. We received a tour from Ken, a super nice gentleman that showed us around, made us feel comfortable and went above and beyond. If you're a 1st timer, request that Ken give you a tour.

Anyway, we found the place to be larger than we expected. It was also very clean and well keep. You will find that most nudist are very friendly, open minded, and easy to talk to and white thorn is no exception, good friendly folks.
Few random thoughts- the pool was salt water, which was interesting, you tend to flot better. The lodge was spacious (they had a 60's and 70's cover band that night). There were 4 rooms for rent (2 cabins side by side with 2 rooms each, no AC though). Plenty of RV, camper or tent camping sites and areas with hook-ups. Good mix of young and old, which was cool because these places are generally full of older retired ppl, so it was good to see a mix. We did find the prices to be a little on the high side, $60 just for the few hours we spent there, but it was explained to us that it was a $24 hour pass, which would be cool if we planned on staying there or coming back the next day. Would have been better if they offered a one day $30 couple or single pass.

All in all, I would say it's a great place and we are definitely going back. If you are considering going, just do it. It is a great drive thru the country side to get there as well, very americana.

It was my first time at WTL in early August, and I was nervous but excited for the exhilaration of my first nudist camp experience. I fell in love with the place and the lifestyle the second I stripped and got my tour!! Everyone I met was so nice, open minded, and friendly!! I couldn't get enough of the atmosphere, the great food, the hellos with smiles, sun on my skin, or spectacular conversation struck up with a perfect stranger. I met so many people over two days I felt like I was the guest of honor. All of them had such positivity, openness, and acceptance. It felt like the warmest place in the world, and I did not want to leave. I wanted to live there! Thank you all for so many good memories I will have for life. I use a manual wheelchair daily because of a spinal cord injury at a young age. Many people in society don't even approach me, mainly look at me with curious disdain but during my weekend there it was the COMPLETE OPPOSITE!! So many people were asking me about my disability with sincere inquiry and interest. THAT is what made me so comfortable and accepted. I cannot tell you in words what it did for my soul. I will most definitely be back A LOT next summer. Thank you all at WTL for helping change my outlook on life and find a new family connection!!!!!

On Saturday, September 3, my husband Steve and I visited White Thorn Lodge for the first time. We have been married for a little less than 2 years, but many years ago Steve had been to a nudist camp a few times. I had never considered it until I met him. Yesterday was my first time ever, and I am hooked!
We came from Akron OH and we took Rt 224, OH 45, OH 7, roads that let us really see the countryside. It was a beautiful ride, took us about an hour and a half. When we turned onto State Line Rd, I'll admit I was pretty apprehensive. We were greeted by some very friendly folks, who answered all our questions, we were given a tour by a very nice gentleman. (Forgive me, I am terrible at remembering names.) After we parked and got undressed, we walked around admiring the creativity and whimsy of some of the campsites and trailers/houses. People smiled and said hello, and any "nerves " I had vanished.
We mostly hung out on the patio, we talked to the lady selling 50/50 tickets and several folks who were buying tickets. The pool is beautiful. We didn't swim yesterday, but we will in the future. We watched some volleyball, listened to some great classic rock, and just generally wandered around.
All day we watched a beautiful young mother named Keri with her little son Tyler. He was just adorable, and before long Keri came over and talked to us a bit. She was just so sweet and welcoming. She introduced us to several others and we talked for quite a bit. I really hope we can get to know Keri and her husband Travis and others next summer. Everyone is so nice and friendly, we felt so welcomed and at ease. (If you know Keri, please thank her from us for helping to make our visit great.)
It's a little frustrating to have found such a great place so late in the season, but we will for sure be back next summer, (already planning several weekends and a 4 or 5 day vacation!) and we look forward to building new and lasting friendships.

Sincerely,
Lynda & Steve

Being a naturist/nudist on my private property and remote camping/hiking areas, I always wanted to attend a resort/camp. After checking into others, I chose White Thorn Lodge, and I couldn't have picked a better resort! The people are warm and friendly and there's lots to do! I spent time relaxing at the pool, hiking and meditating in the woods, playing sports, and socializing. Time went so slowwwwww! It was amazing! Although I packed my own food, I couldn't resist the breakfasts and lunches served at such reasonable prices. Being a huge volunteer myself, I am totally hooked on the co-op atmosphere with volunteers running the place! They obviously are not in this for the money. They just want people to get together and enjoy nude recreation, and feel comfortable. My suspicions that I landed at the best nudist resort in the area was confirmed by every other guest and member I spoke with. I've only been here once, but I'm ready to be a member!

The grounds were impeccable... fabulous pool, clean rest rooms, even the tap water tasted good! Hanging out by the pool last night under the stars with the concert DVDs projected was a blast.

We look forward to visiting WTL more often!

Our first time ever going to a nude/naturalist location was last year at white thorn. The weekend of the 5k. And I was very nervous at first. And over this past year of going to winter swims and our trip back to white Thorn. I feel our family had gained so many positives from the experiences. There is a new found confidence in ourselfs and more love and acceptance and pride. And after some very traumatic years our family had gone through. It has made a huge difference in our life's. And I'm so thankful. For all thew new friends our family has made. And Mieka and Esme were so thrilled to be at White Thorn Lodge again this year. I've never been in a space where I feel so surrounded by so many loving and kind and wonderful people. I feel like we have been blessed. And I just wanted to share that with you and anyone else who would like to read this. Mieka yesterday did her first swimming in the deep end at white thorn and by the end of the day she was diving for rings at the bottom of the deepest part of the pool. Both girls played and swam so much yesterday. I was hardly able to get them out of the car. And they were both still asleep when I left for work this morning. They are looking forward to more trips this summer.

One word to describe WTL: FABULOUS!!! From the moment we entered the park, we knew this was the right place for our family (including 3 kids) to vacation. The people are exceptional and they take such pride in making sure everything runs smoothly, looks nice, and is accommodating to the visitors. We were amazed at how many times folks came up to us to see if we were having a good time, to offer to answer any questions, or to just strike up a conversation. And they remembered our names! By the second day, they called us by name as they drove by in golf carts and waved, or when we placed our orders at the snack bar. That's a personal touch that means so much to us!

We LOVED it at WTL and we cannot wait to return!!!

Our first ever nudist club experience 8/22/15. Deb M at the welcome center was absolutely wonderful and allowed us to skip the tour and go directly to our camp site, so we could slowly transition into the nudist scene at our own pace. Wish we had known this sooner or we would've visited much earlier. Prior phone conversations left us feeling like we had to jump right in immediately which gave us some apprehension. But that wasn't the case at all. Folks were comfortably friendly, not overly intrusive and respected our privacy. The facilities were well kept...just be prepared for bugs when not near the pool in August. We will DEFINITELY visit again!thinking about joining as members.

I visited for the Aug. 1st car show, and im sure it wont be my last visit to this wonderful club. It was so relaxing to be able to enjoy nature and meet friends, I cant wait to visit again. Hi, Our family was a member back in the 70's and it was the best time. I fondly remember the Super Bowl and the fun we had competing against other teams. I also remember the old farmhouse that is no longer there, the building of the new club house, the corn roasts with my Mom playing the accordion around the camp fire, our hikes down to the pond and riding our dirt bikes everywhere.
Thank you to Wayne and Betty for developing such a fantastic place and Thank you to those who keep it going. It has really grown over the last 40 or so years... I now live in California, but if I get a chance to visit PA I'll plan on stopping by for a visit...

Gate gave me a tour very friendly and welcomed. all naked people say hi to me , which is kind of funny. Later I decided to loose up just to be like them . It was fun to play tennis naked . Met lots of people but couldn't remember their name . I have visited Whitehorn several times and have had just a pleasant experience every time. My first visit, was so enjoyable I've returned several times. I had been to one other resort, and was still a little apprehensive on my visit, I was welcomed at the gate, got the grounds tour and then made my way to the pool for a relaxing day. The pool and hot tub areas are immaculate. Music poolside and later in the day there was a band.
I met and chatted with few residents who later asked me to play in their volleyball game as they needed another player. Everyone there could not be more friendly. Thanks for the warm welcome, I plan to return again when passing through the area.

Our first time visiting WTL this past Saturday. Grounds were very well landscaped and very clean. Pool was great and plenty of lounge chairs in and out of the sun. Snack bar had great food and surprisingly reasonably priced. We played tennis on a great court, until it hit 90 degrees, then hit the pool the rest of the day. People were very friendly. Sadly, had to go home but we found our piece of paradise fairly close to home. Thanks to Ken for the great tour. Will be back very soon

And there were no one judging anyone. I surprised even myself at how quickly I became comfortable. Great pool and the grounds are very lovely. The food was delicious. I was at White Thorn this past Weekend for the 5K run and the Some Colors run/walk. I came in 47 out of 47, but that is pretty much how I planned it. I just wanted to make it and I did and it was fun. And then I did
The Some Colors walk where they throw different color powders on you along the way. It was alot of fun. I came in last on that one too.

The place was very nice, well kept and clean, the pool was nice and warm and two hot tubs, one hot and one hotter. And they also have good food. All in all I had a very good time there, and the people were very nice.

If you're like I was and my wife still is, don't be afraid! There are people there of all age groups and body types... you don't have to be a model or have a 6-pack to fit in!

I hope I'll be coming back again soon!

It was a sunny 90 degree day, and i decided to visit white thorn for the very first time. I arrived not knowing what to expect, but they made me feel comfortable from the moment i arrived. When i pulled up to the gate there were clear instructions on what to do. When i checked in at the gate house they were very friendly. As it was my first time in the camp they showed me around, told me the dos and don'ts, and introduced me to a crew good folks.
The Camp is very beautiful and well taken care of. The pool was amazing and so clean. Every thing was clean.
The people, well you won't meet any nicer. I was eyeing up a volleyball game and someone kindly introduced me to the people playing so i was able to join in.
I went for a day visit and didn't want to leave. I'm going back this weekend for the whole weekend.

Well we just got back from our fourth visit to WTL this summer. Hopefully we can get one more stay in. We've been to several facilities, which all are nice, but WTL is the best. Our first time we had all the jitters as we have found out is VERY common! Needless to say after 15-30 minutes they're all out the window and a truly enjoyable stay begins. One person put it best...mostly women come saying "no, no ,no" on Friday and leave saying the same thing on Sunday. A more accurate phrase doesn't exist! The activities, although simple on the surface, require alot of planning and work to pull off as flawlessly as the staff at WTL do on a weekly basis. As stated in an earlier reply I feel safer here than going to town at night.
Here's the plug part for nudism in general omit this if need be webmaster. For men you'll never have to hear the better half complain of having nothing to wear for a fancy night in the clubhouse...whatcha brung is absolutely perfect and appropiate. Women remember the mountain of vacation laundry riding in the trunk? No more! A few towels, bathroom bag, sun screen & glasses, footwear and you're on the way. If you're an "in the closet" nudist as we are a dumby bag of clothes is a must have.
As Mikey used to say "try it, you'll like it!" Sad this summer is drawing to a close.

This was our experience on visiting a nudist resort for the first time, and just to let you know I am a type of person that will not even go outside without a shirt on in my own back yard.

I brought the idea up to my wife and she was hesitant at first but decided to do this but agreed and we are very excited that we did do this. This will be the simplest and most relaxing time you will ever have and what we considered a little paradise in PA

After arriving on a chilly morning we seen everyone dressed and we were like "oh my what did we get ourselves into" but then we were introduced to our tour guide Ken and he showed us around the facility and we made it back to the car and the words were uttered "let's get naked" so we did, it was awkward at first but after about 20/30 minutes sitting by the pool it just felt so good and right. The people and the workers could have not made you feel more comfortable and relaxed and the facilities are well kept and the courts, pools, & tubs are second to none. I will admit it is a very positive surreal feeling that everything you been doing behind closed doors and trying to hide is now open and you will never feel so free in your life, that is what made us realize you spend more time trying to hide what you are and at White Thorn they accept you for who you are. White Thorn is a very Family oriented and friendly place to visit and if the thought of every visiting a nudist resort has crossed your mind then this is the place to do it.

The only negative is that you will have to get dressed and leave and once you're leaving your deciding when the next time you are going to be back.

White Thorn Lodge employees are the best around and thank you for making this very positive and profound experience in our lives.

Not sure how long the feedback can be and not sure if this will make it.

I felt safer with my wife walking around completely naked and having conversations with men then I do when we are in a night club or if she is walking to the store by herself.

This was our first ever visit to a nudist resort. After checking in at a very welcoming registration desk, we were given a tour of the grounds/facilities by our guide Ken. It felt awkward to disrobe in front of a stranger (who was already nude), but within a few minutes there we were, the three of us walking around fully nude while touring WTL. All grounds/facilities were beautiful and in tip-top shape. People smiled and said hello everywhere we went. Ken ended our tour at the beautiful new pool but checked in with us from time-to-time throughout the day to make sure we were doing okay and feeling comfortable. We also met other very friendly folks and are even considering becoming members.

One event that changed my fiance's perspective and impression of a nudist resort had to do with some of the women who were there who were breast cancer survivors. My fiance is a survivor who had a mastectomy and reconstructive surgery to one breast. She was so intimidated by this that she was really reluctant to be nude in public, but within the first half hour of being at the pool she noticed that there were two other women who had mastectomies so she didn't feel so alone. She even struck up a conversation with one of the women (who has been a nudist for a long time) and she was able to share her feelings that helped her tremendously. Needless to say that given this unique experience of meeting other women with mastectomies, she is sold on nudism and we both look forward to our next visit to WTL.

I evolved from a hidden naked man to a social free Nudist and the first day of the rest of my life. It was my first visit to WTL and first visit to a Nudist Camp. I so enjoyed the beautiful grounds, the great "to die for pool" the hot tub and my first ever massage, but most of all I enjoyed the people and this new freedom and way of life. WTL is more than a Nudist Camp to me. It is a sanctuary. I am sooo HAPPY. My thanks to all, especially to my new wonderful friend, Ken. The chicken salad sandwich was great. I will be back.

As you can imagine, as a woman arriving alone for my first visit, I was more than a bit apprehensive and nearly cancelled. So glad I didn't! Loved all the activities! See ya all again very soon!

We experienced a nudist swim and wanted to experience the nature of camping and freedom of nudism at WTL. We were pleasantly welcomed by Ken whom toured us around the premasis in a golfcart. The flowers were beautifully planted, clean restrooms and nice heated pool. We pitched a tent but was not prepared for the sudden drop in temperature. Friendly WTL neighbors lent us a heater, another offered us to stay in there camper, we were welcomed and blessed with such kind people. This truly was an fulfilled exciting and unforgetable experience......... Three weeks later we ventured back to WTL but this time we rented a cabin. Its undescribable how awesome it is to take a nature walk in the nude. We have never felt so comfortable. This experience made my confidence level go up and looking forward to meeting new friends. WE WILL BE BACK.WTL

I grew up at WTL & always meant to come back but the days turned into months, then years & more years. I finally journeyed back last week & everyone welcomed me....& no one knew me except for one very special lady. I knew all the people that made camp what it was when I was a child & it was so heart warming to see how the people of camp today keep it as beautiful as ever. It takes a village....& this one is full of great people! I look forward to my future chance of giving my time & effort to the place that helped to grow me

Visited WTL for the first time this season this past weekend. The new pool area is beautiful with the much larger pool, larger sunning area, umbrella tables and of course the poolside hot tube. Food at the snack bar is always good. I had a good time and will return soon. Thanks to the members for the new area.

My wife and I was in for Saturday night and Sunday but had to leave unexpectly due to a family emergency back home. Now that everything is back to normal, just wanted to say thank you to the staff for understanding. The new pool is amazing! The people are great, a member even let us use a portable heater, extension cord and a few extra blankets that made a huge difference at night. Can not wait to return. Next time I will not listen to my wife, BRING SUNSCREEN!!!

A friend, Ken, invited my wife and I to visit White Thorn Lodge. Ken met us at the gate and, once we parked our car, he took us on a golf cart tour of the camp. I was actually surprised at the size and was very impressed with how well it was maintained. We spent the day walking the trails; watching a couple of whitetail deer when we visited the pond. We met Bob & Nancy and Pat (very nice people) as we relaxed in the new hot tub. We enjoyed swimming and just relaxing at the beautiful bran new pool. In short, both my wife and I had a wonderful time! WTL was even better than I expected!

I started visiting White thorn lodge 2 years ago, this will be my third year. I visit every free weekend I get. I was welcomed my first visit and all the members are friendly and very welcoming. I have always disliked clothes and love to be nude. I quickly found out this is my kind of place to feel comfortable. I would like to meet people in my area or that visit WTL to make friends with. I always visit alone and really have nobody to make conversation with and hang out together. It would be nice to make friends and visit together. I'm 36, love the outdoors and very easy to get along with. Thanks to all the members at WTL for making me feel comfortable every visit. Can't wait to see you all this year.

Just like to say that the Super Bowl this year (2012) was just as great as the rest with the exception of Betty and Wayne not being there. That did make me sad. Betty was there but not in her normal capacity. We have been to many Super Bowls and have just camped at WTL and we have had an excellent time every time we have been there. A big thank you to all of the members for going to so much work on these events to make them so wonderful. We will be back and again thank you so much for all of your hard work.

My goodness, what a weekend!! We are members at a park in Ontario, and have not had the opportunity to visit any clubs in the U.S. But we attended the Superbowl, and did we ever love it!!! The grounds were immaculate, and the members unbelievably helpful and friendly! The tourney organizers did a fantastic job, and it ran smooth as silk! We have done nothing but gush to everyone we know since our return. The cost was incredibly low, and we got WAY more than our moneys worth!
We honestly couldn't have had a better weekend!
Thank you so much to the members of the Lodge, and we will return next year, no matter what!
And again, sorry to all the peeps I watched the game with, I hope I didn't offend anyone when I cheered for the Broncos during their victory!!! :!devil:

I feel ridiculous writing this, but I can't wait for next year, and good luck with the new pool and hot tub!!

My first visit to WTL was exciting. My husband had brought the idea to my attention, and I was very nervous - I had no idea what to expect. Curiosity finally got the best of me, so we paid a visit. The tour was great, the people were so warm and inviting, the grounds are amazing, and after about ten minutes I was finally able to "drop my towel". We've since been back a few times, and each visit just keeps getting better! We are hoping to become members by next season, as we have found our "home away from home"! Thank you WTL!!

WOW!!! Went to the LUAU as a first timer with only a couple of winter swims prior. Super nervous but met the nicest people!!! Was a little scared announcing myself with the mike at the main gate and wondering if it was on a loud speaker or what but got to the main gate and the fun began!!! One guy noticed my front license plate and asked some questions and I was hoping to meet him again and talk some more but didnt and then I got a guided tour of the campgrounds and it is really nice! Enjoyed some yummy salad from the snack bar and iced tea while trying not to be self conscious about being TOTALLY naked! It is so weird for a basically first timer... Later while exploring by myself Kathy smiled and said "HI" and I talked to her and her friend Marty the rest of the afternoon! That was great becuase I only knew one person (Ken) from the swims and was by myself so I assumed I would be reading my book all day and trying to look like I fit in but the afternoon flew by with background music from the DJ and GREAT conversation!!! Soon it was time for the Luau and the lines were long but by then I was chilling in the pool with a noodle and meeting some members who gave me the history of WTL and told me about the new BIGGER pool for 2013. I wandered up to check on my things and get a drink and met Superbowl Betty and chatted with her for awhile. GREAT lady! Got in line with my mouth watering and it took three trips to sample all the goodies! Watched the volleyball games off and on all day and was really impressed with the players!
Hit the pool again and did some exercises to work off the meal HAHA! and then the hot tub so I could feel all melty and then a quick shower. I wandered around saying good bye to all my new friends but missed Kathy and since she was the first person to say "HI" I really wanted to THANK her! So THANKS KATHY you really made my day GREAT!!!!

I, too, was a newbie to nudism when I visited White Thorn Lodge this past Saturday for the 5K State Line Streak. I immediately felt comfortable with the concept and enjoyed sharing comments with other entrants before, during, and after the race. Being a resident of the area, I regret not visiting the lodge years ago. I am grateful that the race provided the incentive for me to finally visit. I hope that other locals, who have been holding back from visiting, do themselves a favor and make their way to this gorgeous multi-sport and recreational facility for an enjoyable time socializing with pleasant people.

I live over four hours away, so I can't visit often, but I will definitely be back!

WTL was our very first nudist experience way back in 1980 and we've visited every summer from then up until moving from OH to AZ in 2007. You couldn't ask for a more beautiful, friendlier place to be introduced to social nudism! Especially enjoyable was spending Fourth of July weekends at WTL with our home club, Northcoast Naturists. The parades with police and fire equipment from the local community were always a treat. A special memory was walking nude on the wooded trails during a warm, late summer shower. Too many fond WTL memories to list! Thank you so very much for being the wonderful, friendly club that you are!

After visiting quite a few nudist places this year WTL appears to be in the running for our most favorite nudist campground that we went to over 2011'. We visited for the first time in early July with everyone so warm & inviting that we felt like we fit right in from the the starting gate. We have to come 2.5 hrs to get there but it was well worth it! Everyone assured us that the Luai weekend along with the Volleyball weekend would be great times to plan "a must return for" time. We were able to make it for the Luai weekend after some last minute schedule rearranging and it was a blast dancing in the sand under the stars in the nude to the great band strike three? I think they were called!! We are tent campers but it is a great arrangement to be able to pick a spot in the open area and set up wherever you want to.
Many thanks go out to Tristy, Andy, Terry, Lisa and her hubby along with Carol just to name a few of the members that welcomed us with open arms. I promise I will bring some "spirits" back next year to share with Andy and Terry! :p
It is a very clean and well manicured place, believe me when I say the members really do take pride in the maintaining of the property. Next year we will be on board from the begining of the summer so we can have more dates open & return to many of the activities planned in 2012'. The activities and music along with the live bands are great!! The pool needless to say is quite a popular congregating place to socialize or sit by the side and read or take a nap while getting a great tan! :!sun:
Definately worth our ride, we will be back and maybe this year we will have graduated up to atleast a pop up camper from a tent! 😮

As we are going on 9-10 yrs of coming to WTL, we still look forward to coming back ASAP. Time is the problem. Linda has been working 7 days a week, maybe in a year her schedule will be better. Lately it has been too many bills, and we can't plan weekends.
Linda was kind of shy at first, but now she's out of her duds real fast.
The way the grounds are kept up is awesome! We do tell as many people as possible about WTL and some have taken us up on coming. One person has been a real friend, Wm Penn, and many more are ready to help out if you have a problem.
You can find us in the Flats - just look for a motor home with the Dallas Cowboy flag.
Maybe someday we will have a permanent spot.

Thank you

I have visited several times over the past three years & of course the most fun for me is SUPER BOWL ! sooo many fun open-minded poeple from all over the U.S.& CANADA & what is the most amazing thing in this troubled world we all share is around a 1000 peolple hang out together for 3-4 days & NO ARGUMENTS OR TROUBLE TO BE FOUND ! how perfectly peaceful ! The days when they have live music are probably some of my favorite as i love to get up & dance my cares away ! & sitting around the community camp fire is also sooooooo relaxing & social ! Just wanted to send a note to let you know that our time at White Thorn Lodge was great. When Jim and I decided to do this we were a little nervous wondering what we might be walking into that we did not want to do. White Thorn was true to what they had stated online that it was family and that is what we saw. It was a nice quite place to get away from everyday life. We both work very hard and need time to be together in a relaxed and quite surrounding. Allthough we are not campers like I had stated, for us to come for day trips is really great for us since we only live about 45 minutes away. I can't say enough about are first experience there, from pulling up to the gate, getting out of the car to register, and of the welcome wagon. Everyone was beyond nice and the place is clean and you can tell people love coming there. Thought we would be a little nervous about taking our clothes off for the first time but you made us feel very comfortable about it and never thought twice about it. Laying by the pool for the day was so great. Can't wait till we can come again hopefully this weekend.
Visitors from E.PA/NJ/NY from Eastern Pennsylvania, NJ, and NY wrote on August 9, 2011
This past weekend was White Thorn Lodges annual Hawaiian Luau and pig roast. On the recommendation of our good friend Deb who visited WTL last year, my wife and I plus two other couples and our friend Deb made the trip from eastern PA/NJ and Binghamton NY to White Thorn in Darlington PA for the festivities.

Last minute car troubles for Deb had her carpooling out with us and after stuffing our Subaru with all of hers and our camping gear and hitching our tent trailer we headed out early Thursday morning for a mid day arrival.

Ominous looking clouds and a bit of rain halfway across I-80 had us worried but by the time we arrived at noon the sun was shining. Carol, the person manning the gate and admissions greeted us like wed known her forever and had us checked in and on our way to nude bliss in no time. The sign stating WTL is a NUDIST resort and nudity is expected made me smile.

As we drove to the camping area, we immediately remarked to ourselves how neat, clean and orderly everything looked. I mean the grounds were immaculate. Nothing run down, grass manicured, flowers planted, roads graveled, graded and smooth. These people put effort into making sure everything is perfect and it shows.

We stripped, set up camp on a very lovely site and us being some of the first there for the weekend had the pick of the litter so to speak and a site with a nice old oak tree that seemed to beckon us with a promise to keep us shaded and cool for our stay. And that fine tree did just that.

The rest of the afternoon was spent swimming in their beautiful pool and making new friends. And as an added bonus, some old friends that we have not seen in about 5 years decided to visit for the weekend. It was a very pleasant and unexpected surprise indeed. Then it was time for dinner; charcoal going, burgers on and then those ominous clouds reappeared and as we were eating under the awning, a wicked t-storm hit and drenched us. Oh well, it aint camping unless youre eating a burger naked in a downpour.

Friday was spent doing what true nudists do. RELAXING in the pool, catching up on news with friends, reading in the shade and forgetting about the outside world. Friday evening all of our group were invited to the campsite of one of the members and his girlfriend for dinner. They had a very tasty entre and dessert baking in their dutch ovens. We all brought what we were going to have for supper and added to theirs for an impromptu potluck and had a feast. What wonderful hospitality. Thank you Tom and Kathy. Then off to the pool for an evening of swimming preceded by a film of a concert of Elvis in Hawaii which was this years luau theme.

But Saturday was to be the star of the weekend. The snack bar opens for breakfast and lunch on weekends and the omelet I ordered was done to perfection. Then off to the pool for a couple hours. In the meantime my wife discovered there was a yoga class at 10am. We love yoga and this was a chance to do it nude in a group setting. Theresa the instructor was awesome. Very knowledgeable and she had us sweating and limber by the end of class. All the while more WTL members, day trippers and folks camping overnight after the pig roast were pouring in all day. When it was all said and done there were probably 600-700 people there for the day. At 5pm they carved the pig and all the potluck dishes everybody brought were lined up on a dozen and a half tables end to end that would make an Army mess Sgt proud. There was no way one could sample all there was to eat.

Then the band showed up. A group by the name of Three Strikes Out (or something like that). Anyway they had the place jumping in no time and played 3 sets until 12:30am. The dance floor was the sand volleyball court. Picture 100 naked people rocking the night away out under the stars. Awesome. When the band packed up for the night, we all headed for the pool for another skinnydip. My wife and I hit the sack at 1pm while the rest of the group headed for the hot tub. I have no idea what time they called it quits. Party animals.

Sunday unfortunately, was our go home day. After saying goodbyes and vowing to not let so much time go by until we got together again, we headed out for the 6 hr drive home. A huge thank you to all the members of WTL for making their club a true nudist destination.

Next year we all decided to return to WTL for their Hippie Weekend. Far out man. Cant wait.

The first thing we noticed about WTL was how friendly the people are. It is a very relaxed and comfortable atmosphere at WTL. There is plenty of "nothing" to do if you want to lay around and relax. On the other hand, the members make it a point to have something going on most every weekend so that it does not turn into the same old thing every weekend. Of course some of the staples of WTL are always there such as the pool, volleyball, and corn hole games. After one visit we were sure that this was the place we wanted to spend all of our free time during the summer months, therefore we almost immediately began the membership process. We honestly do not believe how anyone would not want to spend time at WTL. What a wonderful place to be!

I just had to send an email to thank you for probably one of the best days I have had in a long time. I visited yesterday for my very first nude experience. Although I was slightly nervous, we were greeted at the gate by Mary who made me immediately feel relaxed. She talked kindly and remembered back to her first time as well. Within minutes I was undressed and felt so alive. The accommodations and grounds were wonderfully maintained. The people were so incredibly friendly. We swam, hiked, and talked with people. I felt alive. We left yesterday feeling refreshed and renewed. Like all the weights of the world were lifted and we were free...of course until we had to come back to textile living. What Im trying to say is, thank you! Knowing there are places where I am accepted just as I am is wonderful and I am so glad my first experience was there! We will definitely be back.
