The weekend of July 20/22 started Friday evening with a social get together on the patio. Chatting with old friends, making new friends while nibbling on peanuts and popcorn is a good way to start any weekend.

Sunday afternoon saw some of the most intense volleyball action seen in a long while. The 2nd annual Badass Naked Volleyball 2's tournament had a fine selection of 16 athletes turn out to compete for the title of 2's World Champion. Each division had four teams in heated competition. The B division championship saw Terry/Rick best Keri/Ron. In the A division, during what was undoubtedly the most exciting game of the day, Mark/Travis beat Jake/Lewis in a nail-biting 27-25 game. All four victors received a custom made BNV T-shirts, as well as bragging rights for the rest of the year.

Saturday afternoon’s Bocce Tournament was cancelled because all the rain we had earlier in the week left the court too soft to play on.

All was not lost because it was Carnival at White Thorn Lodge. There were games for the kids of all ages to play and win tickets to cash in for prizes. While some played games others enjoyed the food Lisa of John prepared for sale. Great hot sausage sandwiches, fried Oreo cookies and donuts were among the favorites. Nikki was busy making lemonade and Tom P. was cooking fresh french fries. Thanks to the cooking crew and to all that helped with the decorating, manning the games and food table.

In the evening Take One Productions took the stage in the clubhouse playing some rockin’ dance music. Everyone had a great time and danced past midnight.

The weather Sunday was an absolutely wonderful day for skinny dipping, Sunny with temps in the mid 80’s. Sunday morning Shelly and Dan took the kids to the pond for a fishing contest. Scott of Cate & Brian landed the first fish and his brother Cameron was lucky enough to land the second biggest fish. Freddie of Fred caught the biggest fish. Dan caught a package of hot dogs which they grilled for lunch.
