August 27 / 29The weekend's festivities started Friday evening with West Penn Naturist hosting a marriage vow renewal ceremony. Allan Jackson's Remember When was playing as the eleven couples marched onto the patio. Cindy provided a very nice renewal service. Staci worked very hard organizing, buying flowers and decorating the patio. Thank you very much for all your hard work. Also thanks to all the couples that took part in the renewal vows ceremony . |

Saturday evening was Murder Mystery night in the club house. In keeping with the marriage theme set Friday evening the play was set at a wedding reception.
The cast: Pappa Guccibag was played by Bud. Mama Guccibag by Carm, Vinnie Guccibag by Andy, Rosetta Guccibag by Debbie, Gina Guccibag by Eric, Luigi Staletto was portrayed by Carrie, Sal Staletto by Rick, Marie Staletto by Shelly, Terry had the role of Bruno Bystandsa. All the cast played their parts very well. We all had good laughs and enjoyed the performance. Thank you all for all the work you put into this performance.
Starting at 11:00 on Saturday was a volleyball tournament. In the class A round Terry and a visitor named Dwayne tied for most points at the end of regular play, forcing a playoff. It was a very close and hard fought game with Terry managing to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. Congratulations Dwayne. Once again, Congratulations to the Class B winners Travis and Loretta. Thanks to everyone that played, or just watched the games.
With all the volleyball being played White Thorn Lodge we should have a good team for the Super Bowl of Volleyball. If you do not have a team but would like to play come out and sign up for a team.

Next weekend is Labor Day. The weather forecast shows almost 0 percent chance of rain. Sunny and warm temperatures all weekend. Come and celebrate the holiday and our 8th annual Mardi Gras featuring a parade in the afternoon and dancing to Guys Without Ties in the evening. Also a lot of activities are planned. A lot of people come for the Labor Day festivities and stay all week for the Super Bowl.
Help us celebrate 40 years of the most unique competition in the country. Teams from all over will be gathering to mark this momentous occasion. There is no separate fee for using the pool and hot tub, playing volleyball, nightly entertainment, including live bands, skydivers, corn on the cob Sunday afternoon.
